Which Kerry Town Is Right for Your Stag?

12 August 2026 · 6 min read

Killarney for the all-rounder, Dingle for atmosphere, Tralee for value, Kenmare for the big spend. An honest breakdown of all seven towns by group size and budget.

Every group asks the same first question: where should we actually go? Here is how we answer it.

Killarney is the all-rounder. Nightlife, the National Park on the doorstep and the brewery and distillery within walking distance of most accommodation. If your group cannot agree on anything, Killarney is the safe call.

Dingle is for groups who want the weekend to feel like an adventure rather than a pub crawl. Surfing, coasteering, boat trips and a genuinely brilliant pub scene at the end of it.

Kenmare suits smaller, older groups with a bigger budget — food, whiskey and gin tasting, kayaking on the bay.

Tralee is the value option and the easiest to reach, which matters once you pass twenty lads. Killorglin, Cahirciveen and Listowel are the choices for groups who want somewhere with a story: Puck Fair, the Skellig Ring, and race week respectively.

Tell us the group size, the budget per head and the two things the groom actually enjoys, and we will make the call for you.

Planning one of these yourself?

Tell us the town, the dates and the headcount. You'll have a costed plan back within one working day.
